From Garden Strolls and Games, to Celebrations & Soirées
The Walled Gardens are a blend of history, tranquility and celebration. When not reserved for weddings or private events, they are available for Park guests to explore. Enjoy a few lawn games, book an afternoon tea or picnic experience, and while away an afternoon.

A Heritage Restoration
In 2020, The Walled Gardens underwent a careful and sympathetic restoration, undertaken with a deep respect for the Estate’s heritage. Under the guidance of Lady Egremont, each decision was made to preserve the spirit of the original Victorian garden while preparing it for the next chapter.
The garden walls themselves were restored by a local master brick mason, and his work ensured that the structure of the gardens remains as robust as the landscape within them.

The Four Quadrants of The Walled Gardens
The Lower Garden is a peaceful, naturalistic space featuring a newly planted orchard of native apple varieties and a wildflower meadow alive with bees, butterflies and seasonal colour.
The Upper Garden is more structured and formal in design, arranged around a central path bordered by lawns, beds and borders. This is the primary setting for weddings and events, comfortably hosting up to 200 guests. When not in use for private hire the Upper Garden is open to our accommodation guests for picnics, lawn games and sunny afternoons spent relaxing.
The Garden House Garden surrounds our Georgian manor house with a neat lawn edged with historic walls and hydrangeas. The perfect space for Garden House guests to enjoy summer barbecues, a quiet morning coffee, or outdoor dining. For weddings, it also provides a beautiful and intimate setting for lawn ceremonies and wedding morning preparations.
The Beehives Cottage Garden is the final quadrant and home to Beehives Cottage. Set within an informal garden of long meadow grasses and winding pathways this natural, textural space feels wonderfully secluded.

Weddings and Celebrations
With the Upper and Lower Gardens, Garden House lawn, and surrounding pastures, The Walled Gardens offer endless options for celebrations. From relaxed daytime gatherings to exclusive evening parties, every corner provides a beautiful backdrop for ceremonies, receptions, and unforgettable moments.
Events at Woodhall Park are always exclusive to maintain the peace and privacy of our accommodation guests, we never host events and overnight stays in the gardens simultaneously, ensuring a calm and restorative atmosphere for all.
